It’s all in the details.
the dress
- MIRA ZWILLINGER-
My dress was by Mira Zwillinger, a gorgeous Israeli designer, which I purchased from Browns Bride. It came with a matching veil which really completed the dress. It was important to me how the dress moved, my gown was light and floaty and adding a hoop underneath really enhanced that; It also created a slightly princess-y feel, which I loved.
My first man I ever loved, the moment he saw me in the dress... I will love this man forever.
The Shoes
- VALENTINO -
It was important to me that the shoes were not too high, because bambi-walking and blisters are NOT THE ONE for your wedding day, trust me. My Mum was very kindly buying them for me and she wanted to make sure that I didn't just wear them once! So I went for a silver Valentino strappy sandal. They were super-comfortable and since the wedding - I have worn them quite a few times. Who says you can’t have style AND comfort, eh..

The Bag
- VALENTINO -
What’s in my wedding bag you ask? Well, allow me to open up my Mary Poppins sack o’ necessities for you: Jo Malone mini perfume, chewing gum, deodorant, make up and make up wipes. I didn't have any money or my phone on me, because no purchases or calls were (clearly) being made whilst getting married… Why would i need to when everyone i love was with me! I also kept my flower crown in my bag; I wore this in the evening once I took my veil off.
THE WEDDING SCENT
- PENHALIGON'S -
Perfumes have always been something that I really enjoyed picking. Smells can often remind you of certain times in your life and evoke wonderful memories. So picking my wedding scent was super important. I picked on from Penhaligon’s… It was gorgeous, and smelt very similar to a Chanel fragrance that is exclusive to Boutiques only. I usually love woody perfumes, however, I wanted to go for something fresh on my wedding day. Once is was fully absorbed into the skin, it was even more gorgeous and lasted the whole day!
The Make Up Artist
- GEMMA SUTTON -
After having a few make up trials in Italy I, unfortunately, couldn’t quite find one who made me look how I wanted to look, so I made the decision to fly one in from London. A friend recommended Gemma Sutton. Now Gemma has a team of make up artists and they are all qualified to her standards. I had my trial with Michelle and she was honestly the best make up artist I've ever worked with. She was super calm, knew exactly what I wanted and she just got on with things. On the day, I wanted to keep my makeup fresh, dewy and not too heavy.
- SOME OF THE AMAZING PRODUCTS -
The Bridesmaids Dresses
- GHOST -
I bought my Bridesmaids their dresses from Ghost. Before visiting, I was pretty set on a pastel green, as it goes so well with peach, and I knew I wanted peach flowers for my wedding. I also quite liked the idea of the dresses not all matching and GHOST offer a gorgeous range of shapes and sizes that fit all different body shapes. We booked an appointment in March and I purchased them that day! When you know, you know, y’know?!
Bridesmaid Gifts
This one was pretty hard for me to decide. I knew that I wanted to get the girls a special keepsake, but my budget couldn't really go over £100 each. I spoke to a jeweler in Hatton Garden about making a bracelet but they were a minimum of £200 each. So I managed to find a gorgeous company on Not On The High Street that sold little diamond initial bracelets. They were perfect and I was so happy with how they looked, as well as how they sat on the wrist. I also wanted the girls to have their own little scent on the day that would remind them of the memories we shared. So I bought them mini Jo Malone perfumes that fitted perfectly in their bags.
Bridesmaid Dressing Gowns
I think I thought about this item far too much to be perfectly honest! I ordered so many dressing gowns but they all felt a little uncomfortable and rather cheap! I went with ... in the end as they matched perfectly with mine and my flower girls’ ones.
Gift Wrapping
I’m a complete sucker for gift wrapping, ever since I was a little girl I would always go all-out on the wrapping front. Sometimes I would spend more money on the gift box than the actual gift itself! Our wedding stationary was all printed on brown vintage paper so I wanted to continue this theme with the gifts. A family friend of ours (Jon Garrard) is a graphic designer and I often use him for work. He had kindly offered to create all of our wedding stationary as a wedding gift, so I asked him to also create personalized gift tags for my presents. I was so happy with the result.
Wedding Stationary
Table names were based on Italian designers. A happy medium between me and my husband (an Italian). Italian references for him, fashion for me. These were printed on brown card and placed in vintage frames that matched the candles.
I wanted to go against tradition with the table plan - and decided to hand out keys from the stunning tree (in the venue’s garden) - where the canapes and cocktails were going to take place. This was a super fun and engaging way to keep the guests guessing, as it didn't fully give away who they were sitting with as each name was printed separately.
I purchased my name places from VM Bespoke. I was really impressed with the finish and I went for 'GOLD' as this went with my theme throughout. Each name was placed individually. We had a few guests with the same name so I ordered their first names and last names separately. VM Bespoke advise that you order the tags at least 2 months before your event
The Order of Service, wow what an important challenge: choosing your hymns, readings, vows. Even typing this is making me tired, so I’m not going to go into all the do's and don’ts. The one thing I was sure of - was that I wanted to put a personal message in the booklet. Often, guests flick through this before the bride arrives so I wanted them to start feeling the love and emotion that I felt. We had the message printed: ‘True love always finds its way’, something I feel very strongly about.
If you haven't noticed this about me yet, smell is super important to me. Scent often acts as a real-life time machine and I LOVE that! So we decided to go with room spray scents as a wedding favour; we wanted to give our guests something that they would not only use, but that would remind them of our special day.
Thank you so much for reading, back to the Fashion stories i go....
